Sellswords

Obviously, mercenaries and sellswords are quite common in the Hundred Kingdoms. Mercenary companies of note include: Mharkos' BloodRavens, largely found in and around Rathmark and Maren, Atharis' Blunderbusters, operating around Westingham and Westonford, and Tyrgon's Bonebreakers, operating in and around Grahf, Mordain and Cymorth.

Most larger mercenary companies tend to form stable relationships with the dukes and barons who need their services. It is not unusual for a larger company to spend ten years serving a single sovereign, if the pay is good enough.

Unfortunately for many rulers, though, when the money runs out, oftentimes the mercenaries tend to turn on their former employers.

Mercenary companies tend to be disdainful of many noble knights, as a great many noble knights are not as good on the field of battle as they should be. However, there are also a great number of noble knights who are respected and even feared on the field of battle.

Their opinions of swordbrothers tend to run the gamut, from respect and admiration to outright hostility.

Hmmmm... Most sellswords, I assume, are fighters and warriors. Any companies that are primarily priests, monks, or mages? For that matter, any companies that are truly esoteric (I would imagine a company of Vampires could be quite powerful...)?
