Each province would most likely have a Duke of the House that rules the province, though on occasion it is ruled by a Duchess, or a Regent appointed by the King until such time as the heir comes of age. Where a House rules more than one province, sometimes the same Duke rules all provinces, or sometimes the lines are split, and while the same House rules both provinces, the Dukes may be brothers or cousins. Also, sometimes a Duke will rule more than one province, but in name only. He may appoint a Count (from a Minor House) to oversee the rulership of one province, while he himself actively rules another. Each Duke owes fealty to the ArchDuke of his Quarter, and to the King. Under the Dukes are Earls, Counts, Barons, Baronets, and lord of individual landholdings of the Minor Houses, who owe fealty to their Duke.
